Question: Are Solar Panels Worth It Without South-Facing Roofs on Your Home?
Answer: Absolutely. While south-facing roofs are ideal for maximum sunlight in Pennsylvania, they’re not the only option. East- and west-facing roofs can still generate plenty of electricity—often enough to make your investment worthwhile. The difference in production is usually only about 10–20% compared to a south-facing system.
If your roof orientation isn’t perfect, there are solutions. We can add a few extra panels to make up for the slight inefficiency or panels can be mounted at optimized angles, placed on different roof sections, or even installed on ground-mounted systems if you have the space. Modern solar technology is also more efficient than ever, so panels capture energy even on cloudy days or less-than-ideal roof lines.
At Solaire Energy, we design every system around your property’s unique conditions. That means we’ll evaluate your roof, shading, and energy needs to recommend a solution that delivers strong savings and long-term reliability—whether your roof faces south or not.
